Vintage cut crystal casket with brass mount

A heavy casket of cut crystal that throws light in every direction. The body is worked in a fine pyramid field with a band of deep-relief diamonds cut over it, so the surface goes from a soft frosted sparkle to sharp, glassy points depending on where you stand. The lid repeats the pattern and lifts on a brass mount with a stamped scrollwork band and a small flower thumbpiece to catch it. Inside is just as considered as the outside — the base is finished with a big star cut you can see straight through. It has real weight in the hand. The perfect casket to be used daily or as part of a crystal collection.
