A seated classical maiden clock topper, laurel-crowned and lost in her music. She reads from a scroll of sheet music open across her lap — the notes are actually cast into the metal — a tambourine resting against her stool at her feet. The casting is genuinely detailed: you can follow every fold of her dress down to the hem, the tiny buttons along her sleeve, her bare toes just past the edge of the drape. Modeled fully in the round, so she reads beautifully from any angle — pensive in profile, almost private from behind. Small enough for a shelf or bookcase, but with real sculptural weight to her.

Dimensions: 9 1/4" H x 7" W x 4 1/4" D

Medium: Gilt spelter

Age: Estimated late 19th to early 20th century

Origin: European

Signature/mark: None visible

Disclosures: Sold as-is in antique condition. There is honest gilt wear and rubbing throughout, heaviest on the raised areas — shoulders, knees, and the top of the head — where the darker base metal shows through. There are small chips and losses to the cast detail, including a missing finger and hand-held instrument (see photos). Spelter is a soft, brittle alloy — handle gently and avoid pressure on the extended hands.
